The Era of the Big Event is Not Over — Plus Free Tickets!

As has become tradition, Black Friday at dawn was the moment tickets went on sale for Festival of Dark Arts. And as has also become tradition, within minutes tickets sold out. The Festival of Barrel Aged Beer, the Firestone Walker Invitational, Barrel and Flow—these events illustrate that people still like a good party. In these dark times, it’s great to see we can still enjoy a day or rare, excellent beer.

Well, de Garde is throwing their own big party in Tillamook on May 3rd for their dozenth anniversary, and they’re swinging for the fences. This is going to be an old-timey, let’s-drink-some-awesome-Belgian-and-Belgian-inspired-beer bacchanal. I will include the full details below, but have a gander at some of these names for starters: Tilquin, De la Senne, 3 Fontaine, Cantillon, De Struise, Fantôme. It also includes some of the big U.S. names (Hill Farmstead, Trillium, Sante Adairius, Bierstadt, Green Cheek), plus a bunch of great locals as well. Plus music, eats, and a crowd of beer nerds who, like you appreciate the funk. It’s fair to say that you won’t find a collection this diverse and interesting until—well, probably until de Garde’s 13th anniversary.

And here’s an especially cool thing: Celebrate Oregon Beer has partnered with de Garde and will be giving out two VIP tickets to one of the people who sign up for our biweekly newsletter in the next two weeks (before 5pm PT, Monday Feb 3). It’s a win-win—the newsletter is packed with great info you will enjoy anyway, and you may end up sipping on a lambic for your troubles. Out-of-staters, jump in here, too—Oregon is gorgeous in May and this would make a memorable vacation.
