Something to be Thankful For
I wish you well from the icy reaches of the Maine woodlands (current temperature: 1° F). On this day of thanks, when you’re possibly descending into pitched political battles over the IPAs and roast beast, I offer you something to really appreciate: new breweries. Brewers Association economist Bart Watson posted a map of all the breweries that opened since last Thanksgiving. There are a thousand of them (!). For the local readers, here’s a list of Beaver State openings, according to Bart’s map:
- Barsideous (Lebanon)
- BDSM (Hillsboro)
- Bine Valley (Salem)
- East Fork (Joseph)
- Ferment (Hood River)
- Geist (Redmond)
- Hopheads (Salem)
- The Horn (Depoe Bay)
- Look Long (Portland - Arbor Lodge)
- Modern Times (Portland - SE Industrial)
- Porter (Redmond)
- Ratchet (Salem)
- Smockville (Sherwood)
- Vice (Grants Pass)
- Von Ebert (Portland, two locations)
- West Coast Grocery (Portland - Buckman)
- What’cha Brewing (Florence)
- The Wheel Apizza (Eugene)
- Xicha (Salem)
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
