Celebrate Oregon Beer is Throwing a Fresh Hops Party

If you found a new organization to promote Oregon beer, you gotta throw a party, am I right? Celebrate Oregon Beer—which is getting very close to launching a kickass website—is delighted to partner with TrueWest on the Rose City Fresh Hops Fest. This festival has normally been hosted by the Oregon Brewers Guild. After a rocky outing in 2023, they decided to pass this year, so I asked the OBG Board if they minded if we hosted. They were happy to have someone jump in, so we reached out to TrueWest, who hosts the Hood River Fresh Hop Festival and made a plan.

This is truly one of the best fests out there—all the beers are seasonal, made by Oregon breweries with fresh-from-the-vine Oregon hops, and when they’re gone, they’re gone forever. Fresh hop beers exist in a few places—in the UK, a handful of breweries will make “green beer”—but nowhere else in the world do breweries participate in a six-week season of fresh hops like they do in the Pacific Northwest. We have a current list of 26 breweries participating and will have more than fifty beers on hand (see the list below).

Tickets are available now, and I encourage you to click through and reserve yours now. For planning purposes, it’s helpful to have a sense in advance how many people to expect. There is a waiting list for breweries, so if we are expecting a big crowd, we can add more. Once we near the event, I’ll put out a list of the beers, along with the fresh hops they use and the farm they came from.

About Celebrate Oregon Beer
Since we’re still working on our website, let me remind you that Celebrate Oregon Beer is a nonprofit devoted to establishing Oregon’s reputation as one of the world’s premier beer regions. Helping promote events like fresh hop fests is part of our effort to elevate the extraordinary beer, hops, and beer culture we have here. You can help support our mission as easily as visiting your local brewery and joining us for this fest.
